Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that make it the most rewarding! Now, whenever you make a statement like that, it must be acknowledged somewhere in your being’s very fiber that there is an equally true, but totally opposite prose to balance life and get to the visceral truth.
So, Friday evening we’re having dinner with two of our Staff Kids, Nick and Kelley when the phone rings. Scott answers the phone and starts telling the “lady” how to use the code in their welcome letter to unlock the electronic lock on their Chalet door.
She simply isn’t getting it. Scott finally gets frustrated and heads down there to save their day. Now, realize this used to happen with 1 out of 3 guests; we discovered most of them never opened the envelope to get to the letter and receipt therein. So, in big, bold, capitalized, italicized, red letters under their name we printed “ELECTRONIC KEY CODE ENCLOSED”, now it’s only one out eight guests that get confused. But, when these guests show up, the confusion is relentless.
For the lady involved in this situation, they actually had opened the envelope, they were trying to enter the code from right to left, opposed to the standard left to right that we all read by.
At least their Credit Card number was in the correct sequence and valid!
Oh, now I get it…..I’ve stood in one too many hotel hallways trying to get that thing to work…..(I’m kidding, don’t think I’m a total dork…..)
Merry Christmas to you guys. Hugs.
I am famous for not opening mail that doesn’t look very interesting. In fact, I’ve become so suspicious of the mail, that I neglect checking the mailbox for days. I have stacks of unopened envelopes that I sort thru about once a month. Every once in a while, I get a surprise and find something important, but it’s almost always too late:(
I should know better, but it just seems that , in my life, the postal service has a reputation of bringing either bad news, or at best, time consuming junk mail.
I think that every letter should be labeled with it’s true contents ! It would save alot of time and frustration for me !!
Have a Merry Christmas !!
Love ya,
Susan
This is funny. It’s a wonder some people are able to function in life. These people seem to be the ones who drive in my city.
I have a feeling I’d be one of “Those Lady’s”. heheheh.
I’m a bit retarded with simple instructions, I still manage to fluff it up.
It is the more simple of us folk who make the rest of the population sigh out loud. My Dad sighs at me all the time.
Have a great Christmas Eve!
